Everyone
should have
an equal opportunity to unlock their full potential no matter who they are and where they come from
How is the marcus evans culture unique when it comes to providing opportunities to women?
While we still hear about gender bias in the workplace globally, women at marcus evans feel valued and empowered by receiving opportunities to pursue leadership roles. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work with several internal divisions across APAC, US & EMEA, and so many of them are being led by women. This in itself speaks volumes of the women friendly, inclusive and equitable work culture of marcus evans.
How are you personally contributing towards providing equal opportunities to members of your team? What makes the biggest difference?
There is a clear growth structure that the company maintains within all the teams which is organic and unbiased. I'm highly supportive of this kind of growth structure, hence I set clear goals for each member of my team and provide guidance towards achieving them. I strongly believe in sharing my vision with the team, facilitating open discussions and encouraging diverse viewpoints leading to a cohesive and successful outcome. My recruitment strategies are focused on identifying hard-working and talented individuals without having any pre-conceived notions, and that makes a huge difference when it comes to maintaining equilibrium and diversity within the team.
What advice would you offer to the next generation of female leaders?
What drives me towards attaining consistent growth personally and professionally is persistence, unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge, and ambition of creating a legacy. My advice to women everywhere is to take risks, be tenacious and visionary, which eventually helps in achieving higher positions in any field, while exhibiting traits such as humility, integrity and optimism. Celebrate every woman who has broken the norms and proven that gender is not a barrier to success.
What does gender equality mean to you?
Equality to me means every individual having access to the same opportunities regardless of gender, race or social position. It means providing and receiving the same treatment without any bias or pre-conceived notions. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to unlock their full potential no matter who they are and where they come from. I have learnt the importance of embracing my own differences which is what ignites my motivation.
