How is the marcus evans culture unique, when it comes to providing opportunities to women?

At marcus evans we work in an environment that supports and values diversity on all fronts. Throughout the group we have women from all corners of the world, in all departments and at all levels of the organisation. In the summits division specifically, the global leaders in production, operations and marketing are all women. This demonstrates that as an organisation we encourage everyone to strive for senior positions, and all career advancements are based purely on one’s achievements, integrity, collaborative efforts, and passion for what we do.

How are you personally contributing towards providing equal opportunities to members of your team? What makes the biggest difference?

I’m in a very unique position as the head of production for EMEA and APAC summits, where I have all female teams in both Europe and Asia. I’m very proud to have powerful, intelligent, and highly capable producers and coordinators from Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Colombia, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Lebanon, and Cyprus. The intentional global cultural diversity of my teams is what makes the biggest difference in creating an inclusive environment where we leverage the experiences, thoughts, and ideas of all team members to develop an open, engaging, productive, and creative workplace.

On International Women’s Day, what advice would you offer to upcoming women leaders at marcus evans?

My advice to women everywhere is: There are no limits to what you can achieve; your career progression is in your hands, and mind. One of my all-time favourite quotes is “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” by Seneca and it has guided me throughout my career. Work smart, learn from everyone, be open and collaborative, take on challenges, look for innovations, be passionate about being the best professional you can be, and growth and success will follow. And of course, encourage and celebrate female colleagues and friends, they are the best support system you can have in your professional and personal journey.

Which women have inspired you the most professionally and personally? How?

Fearless females from all walks of life inspire me every day – from my eclectic list of world-famous personalities who champion diversity such as Arianna Huffington, Kristalina Georgieva and Lizzo, to my Gen-Z disruptor daughter, resilient mother and supportive female friends and colleagues. All these female figures inspire and energise, challenge the status quo and shake the world, and most importantly support other women on their quest for equality, respect and empowerment.

My advice
to women everywhere is: There are
no limits to what you
can achieve

Learn, explore and unleash your inner chef.
