How is the marcus evans culture unique when it comes to providing opportunities to women?

The IT industry is still largely dominated by men. marcus evans paving the way for me to head the entire IT development team globally is a validation of equal opportunities. It has been an easy fit culturally and professionally, thanks to the warmth and support of my team and colleagues. I believe, what you bring to the table are your capabilities and values, regardless of your gender, and that resonates here. Work is performed with mutual respect, and your ideas are highly regarded and appreciated, which has been my modus operandi.

How are you personally contributing towards providing equal opportunities to members of your team? What makes the biggest difference?

I have been in IT for the last 16 years and I was fortunate to work with incredible leaders who enabled me to grow. I am grateful and value this support. Since then, I have been keen to promote similar support during my day-to-day management. I make sure to provide a reassuring work environment that creates a platform of confidence and communication, uplifting and empowering women. An equal knowledge of the male environment brings balance to the team as the ratio of women to men in my team is equal.

What advice would you offer to upcoming female leaders at marcus evans?

Leadership is to align your team to the company’s vision and inspire confidence, as change is a constant, with an engrained purpose. I purport to embrace change by being a constant learner, adaptative to every situation around me. As important as it is to be self-reliant, it is totally okay to ask for help and lean on your team, to enhance our learning. Work-life balance is only possible with hard work and team effort.

Which women have inspired you the most professionally and personally? How?

I’ve been inspired by women from all walks of life. I should start with my mother, who has provided a strong foundation for my leadership, along with honesty and humility. As a management student, I have grown up to admire the professional success of these three women: Indra Nooyi (former Global CEO Pepsi), Sudha Murthy (Co-founder of Infosys) and Kiran Mazumdar (Founder of Biocon). And since my professional career started, I was inspired by my former manager Lorna Allan, and my former business partner Poornima Satyanarayan has influenced my strong work ethic.

I make sure to provide a reassuring work environment that creates a platform of confidence and communication, uplifting and empowering women
