How is the marcus evans culture unique when it comes to providing opportunities to women?
At marcus evans, women are offered numerous opportunities to flourish personally and professionally. It's a place where I've seen women thrive in leadership roles, creating a vibrant and inclusive culture. Diversity is celebrated, ensuring everyone, regardless of background, has an equal chance to grow and succeed. Our Nicosia office is particularly multicultural, with women from Russia, South Africa, the UK, France, Germany, Bulgaria, and Cyprus, and collaboration is deeply ingrained in our culture. This diversity fosters stronger connections and a shared sense of purpose. By embracing teamwork and recognising each other's contributions, we continue to build a supportive and empowering environment for women.
What advice would you offer to the next generation of female leaders?
To the female leaders of tomorrow: Building trust with your team is essential. Trust isn't built overnight but through consistent effort. Keep communication channels open with your team members and ensure your actions reflect your company's values. Even when it's difficult, honesty strengthens relationships and promotes accountability. Be prepared to address tough truths and encourage growth. By acknowledging your own mistakes, you foster a culture of accountability that enhances trust within your team. This approach forms the foundation for a strong, trusting connection with your employees.
How are you personally contributing towards providing equal opportunities to members of your team? What makes the biggest difference?
In my role, I actively promote equal opportunities by fostering an inclusive environment within our marketing team. I deeply value the uniqueness of each individual, regardless of their background. By welcoming a diverse range of candidates and adhering to fair hiring practices, we prevent discrimination and unconscious biases. Embracing diversity enriches our team, bringing a wider range of perspectives and talents. The key to making a difference lies in mutual respect, fair treatment, and ensuring everyone has an equal chance to thrive.
What does “great leadership” mean to you? What key traits do you value the most?
To me, great leadership encompasses guiding, inspiring, and empowering others to realise their potential. It drives organisational growth, fosters innovation, and creates a culture of success. The key traits I value most are integrity, vision, communication, empathy, accountability, and a dedication to continuous learning. Leading with empathy is crucial for understanding and emotionally connecting with others, fostering rapport, resolving conflicts, and creating a supportive work environment that cares for your team members' well-being. These qualities enable leaders to navigate challenges, foster collaboration, and achieve outstanding results. What sets exceptional leaders apart is their ability to lead by example, inspire trust, and empower their team members.
