1. In the upcoming Cashless Asia Forum, what are you most excited about contributing and gaining from the event? 

While at the event we plan to share examples of online fraud risk trends we are observing, and strategies digital businesses can use to maximize sales while minimising fraud losses. As digital payment usage increases, so can digital payment fraud threats. It is important for companies like Accertify to provide the necessary solutions to prevent identity and payment fraud. It will be important to understand from the attendees what fraud risks they are experiencing and where we can help.

2. With the expansion of cashless payments, what do you think are some challenges and opportunities that arise when transforming the payment industry?

Businesses who start accepting digital payments for the first time or significantly grow their digital payments channels often find they have challenges determining if transactions are genuine or fraudulent. There are many strategies and tools companies can use to help but it is important to find the right balance between fraud prevention and ensuring sales growth. It is also important to minimise friction in the customer experience.

3. What do you think are some solutions that will manage payments and simplify the cash management structure? 

There likely isn’t one single solution businesses can deploy to prevent payment fraud and at the same time identify genuine customers. It’s important to deploy a layered approach to analyze their digital transactions. Many fraud prevention solutions require the customer to perform an action to verify themselves or they analyze the customer passively. Finding the right mix of fraud risk detection solutions is key to maximising sales while at the same time minimising fraud losses without adding customer friction.

4. How do you think cash and payments industries have pivoted through the pandemic and are staying prominent in the endemic world? 

Many consumers and businesses alike were forced to shift to digital payments during the pandemic. The usage of QR Codes, digital wallets/currencies and “buy now pay later” solutions ramped up during this period and will continue to account for a substantial percentage of business, so businesses need to ensure they are protected from emerging payment fraud threats.

5. As a solution provider, what are the 3 key areas that you are intending to address with the forum's attendees? 

Accertify is looking to share examples of payment and account-based fraud trends we have observed within digitally-enabled businesses. We will also discuss how Accertify Fraud Management & Digital Identity solutions can proactively minimise fraud losses while also maximising sales growth. Lastly, we can share how our solutions lower the operational cost of managing fraud risks through having a single view of a customer’s interactions across the entire customer journey from account creation and account access, to transaction and chargeback/dispute handling.

6. What are the customer groups/industries your solutions will be impacting the most? 

Accertify solutions are used by many of the largest brands across the globe for payment and account fraud prevention. Key industries where Accertify has strong relevance include retailers, marketplaces, travel agencies, airlines, event ticketing, igaming and online sports betting and financial services. Recently we are seeing loyalty program providers as a target for fraudulent activity, for example.
