What could be some future trends within BPM processes and solutions?
Digitization of reporting and contextual information. Which sounds very aspirational. The reality is that we (as I am sure others) still conduct a lot of reporting on excel and PowerPoint. Especially bringing together the business contextual information together with financial data. Using the latest digital tools to bring information together in structured ways and increase the insight that is available from our data, will help us move to more real time and even predictive information to help steer our business decisions.
What do you hope to gain by attending this BPM conference edition?
Insight. I am impressed at the broad range of speakers and topics. I am very much looking forward to learning from them and finding the gems of information that I can use to improve our own transformation.
How has recent economy changed your approach to BPM?
With the implementation of new financial reporting standards IFRS, and need for ever faster financial reporting information (especially in our Insurance Industry). We are driving a large scale transformation of our finance technology landscape coupled with improvement to our operating model to significantly increase the speed of our financial reporting, consolidate our financial data into one golden source, reduce operational risk, and concurrently produce information in multiple-valuations including IFRS. All with the goal to increase the resilience of our balance sheet.
What are the key drivers for an effective transformation?
Technology and people. We have a clear vision for our transformation. Aligning the latest technology for accounting, and reporting with robust people change management (taking everyone on the journey with us), are our critical success factors.
