Consistent & Documented Approach Clears Confusions

What are some of the ongoing challenges in ensuring arc flash safety practices?

An ongoing challenge is the lack of understanding of arc flash by senior management as well as the lack of appreciation of the complexity of doing the arc flash studies

How would you say emerging technologies is enhancing arc flash prevention?

The latest development in PPE has definitely enhanced the protection as the PPE has become very wearable and user friendly

What are some important factors to be mindful of with regards to ensuring safety of individuals/team members onsite?

Ensuring that a consistent and documented approach is used for arc flash safety strategies so that there is no confusion among the employees onsite.

Based on your experiences, could you share some lessons learned from any industry cases /personal incidents to date? (could be in terms of useful tips/mistakes/solutions and/or effective recovery/resolution measures)

Key lesson learnt is do not just start the journey but have a structured and document clear plan as to how you are going to implement your arc flash mitigation else both senior management and the unions could become very excited by the changes you are trying to implement

Any added comments ahead of the upcoming event?

An Arc flash incident has the potential to occur any time and the consequences can be catastrophic, therefore, make sure you are well informed and have a structured plan to ensure mitigation
